Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data AppIndex collects, why, and what your rights are.

Who runs AppIndex

AppIndex is operated by an individual (sole proprietor) based in the Republic of Moldova.

What we collect and why

Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymized, aggregated information such as page views, referrer, approximate location (country/region), browser, and device type. GA4 uses cookies and processes your IP address to derive this data; IP addresses are anonymized by default and are not logged or stored by Google Analytics.

Newsletter sign-ups. If and when we launch a newsletter, we will store your email address with a third-party email provider for the sole purpose of sending you the newsletter. Legal basis: consent. You will be able to unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email. (No newsletter is active at the time of this policy's last update.)

Tool submissions. If you submit a tool via our form, we store the information you provide so we can review and potentially list it. Legal basis: legitimate interest (operating an editorial directory).

We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising trackers. We do not build user profiles.

Cookies

AppIndex uses analytics cookies set by Google Analytics to measure how the site is used. These are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. The site may also use essential cookies strictly required for basic functionality (e.g., remembering theme preference).

Affiliate links

Some links on AppIndex are affiliate links — we may earn a commission if you sign up or purchase through them, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate status does not influence our editorial coverage.

Third-party services

When you click through to a tool listed on AppIndex, you leave our site and become subject to that tool's privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party sites.

The third-party services we currently use:

  • Framer — hosting, content management, and anonymized site analytics

  • Google (Google Analytics) — anonymized site analytics

Where required, we have Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) in place with these providers, ensuring they process any personal data only on our instructions and in compliance with applicable data protection law.

International data transfers

Where data is processed outside your country (e.g., by Framer or other US-based vendors), we rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.

Data retention

  • Analytics data: retained by Framer in aggregated form; no individual records are kept.

  • Newsletter emails: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

  • Tool submissions: retained indefinitely as part of our editorial records, unless you request deletion.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws (including for visitors from the EU, UK, and California), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your data

  • Object to or restrict processing

  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

California residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what we collect, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
